Is Obama’s campaign against "the rich" a good political strategy, or . . .?
a sign of desperation? Or both? Seriously, there are a lot more poor people than rich people So will his call for higher taxes on the rich help his re-election chances? And what other groups are in the majority that politicians could try to attract? It depends on his definition of rich. Although they are not rich in most cases, since it is a gross figure currently $250,000 is rich. When he determines $75,000 is rich, attitudes will change. addthis_url = 'http%3A%2F%2Fpoliticalcampaignstrategy.org%2Fpolitical-campaign-strategy%2Fis-obamas-campaign-against-the-rich-a-good-political-strategy-or'; addthis_title = 'Is+Obama%26%238217%3Bs+campaign+against+%26quot%3Bthe+rich%26quot%3B+a+good+political+strategy%2C+or+.+.+.%3F'; addthis_pub = ''; … Read entire article »

What would be a better campaign strategy for Ron Paul 2012?
I am from the Midwest. What would be a better political strategy? Trying to get the opinion of the general public, or hitting up local churches for support? Or a lesser/weaker form of both (split)? Is there more early political background information on Cindy McCain?
I just read this and found it interesting: "Cindy who is 18 years younger than Gramps McCain and she paid for McCain’s first campaign for Congress in 1982 with loans from her well-endowed trust fund. Her father’s business and political contacts helped gain her husband a foothold into Arizona politics. I wonder how much of her trust fund that she used and how the political strategy worked to get McCain into Arizona politics? Real answers please and I’m not interested in Obama. unfortunately Cindy has made it clear. When the candidates were asked to release their tax forms she said thanks but there is nothing you can do to make me. She later released a summary with things on it like $500,000 from some small investment. Yes it was that … Read entire article »

A question about an observation of the liberal political strategy?
It seems like the Dems. have been focusing their campaigns on small groups of people – global warming, african americans, homosexuals. I hear them talk about righting the wrongs of society if elected. It seems like the Dem. Presidential candidates are following this strategy as well. My question – do you think it will work? or do you think it will cause the Dem. party to self destruct? How can one Dem. candidate please everyone when they’re all focusing on different minority groups of people? Thanks in advance for your THOUGHTFUL and SERIOUS answers only You may say American is made up of small groups of people, but I counter by saying that NO small group defines who I am as a person. You can’t define me simply by … Read entire article »

Where does the political concept that your greatest weakness is also your greatest strength originate?
This has been coming up a lot in the mainstream media’s coverage of the US Presidential Election campaign. I’m wondering if this is a political strategy or if this is just a cliched corporate job interview question ported to the political arena. It’s some kind of either Zen Buddhist or Art of War cliche’ I remember being taught that way way back when I took Kung Fu addthis_url = 'http%3A%2F%2Fpoliticalcampaignstrategy.org%2Fpolitical-campaign-strategy%2Fwhere-does-the-political-concept-that-your-greatest-weakness-is-also-your-greatest-strength-originate'; addthis_title = 'Where+does+the+political+concept+that+your+greatest+weakness+is+also+your+greatest+strength+originate%3F'; addthis_pub = ''; … Read entire article »

How would direct election of the president affect the power of racial minorities in the United States?
How would a system of direct election of the president affect the political campaigning strategy of the presidential campaigns? Which groups benefit and which are hurt by the Electoral College system? Answer whichever ones you want. Thanks for your contributions. Without an electoral college large urban centers would benefit and rural states and regions would suffer. This would most likely benefit minorities and liberals as they tend to be found in greater numbers in big cities like New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. Republican candidates would have to modify their campaigning strategy to appeal to these types of voters. They could no longer rely on southern and midwestern states to carry them to the White House. addthis_url = 'http%3A%2F%2Fpoliticalcampaignstrategy.org%2Fpolitical-campaign-strategy%2Fhow-would-direct-election-of-the-president-affect-the-power-of-racial-minorities-in-the-united-states'; addthis_title = 'How+would+direct+election+of+the+president+affect+the+power+of+racial+minorities+in+the+United+States%3F'; addthis_pub … Read entire article »

What is the best strategy to launch a political campaign in a local district.?
Tom Vilsac, the governor of Iowa, who is also exploring the waters for a 2008 presidential race started his career going door to door, but rather than a brochure, he gave out a blank sheet of paper asking what issues were on their mind. It worked. So get to know your district, go ask tons of open questions. Listening in politics is a lost art. Write your local papers on what your listening discovers. Ask for help. Create a simple web pages with some interactivity built it. Collect as many email addresses as you can. Avoid negativity. Only solutions solve problems. Engage the fringes and the center. Listen. Listen.
