Ed Rollins, Republican strategist, says Daschle did the honorable thing, but he didn’t have to. Is he right?

Has the Democrat political strategy to retain power met with success?
Has the democrat political strategy of labeling everyone who disagrees with their political ideology as either a big0t, r@cist, h0m0phobe, islamophobe or fundamentalist been successful in expanding it’s base of moderates, independents and people of different ideologies? Has blaming people who have no power in government, like Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin, for our current government mismanagement and trillions dollar deficits, been successful in helping expand the democrat party base?
